Day 4: Cameron Pass and Poudre Canyon Descent

Today our riders head down Poudre Canyon after a final climb, up the west side of Cameron Pass.

Yesterday, once again, they faced windy conditions coming into North Park from Willow Creek Pass.

Today started with a success story, as Vadim Gritsus completed his 1000k with moments to spare!
He joins Kris Jones, the other 1000k rider, with a successful finish.

Here is Vadim in Walden, courtesy of Corinne Warren, chef-de-contrôle and esteemed CHC volunteer coordinator.

This is Josh's first 1200k.

Day 3: Gore Pass, Grand Lake, and Willow Creek Pass

After a rough, windy day, 28 riders head from Steamboat Springs today, climbing Gore Pass, visiting Grand Lake, and then Willow Creek Pass before settling in at Walden.

Jeffrey Hulett sent this evocative photo of sunset over Gore Pass on Tuesday evening.

Walden Transit Day 2!

Today our riders are climbing the Snowy Range between Saratoga and Laramie, then heading SW via Walden over Rabbit Ears Pass to Steamboat Springs.

Malcolm and Wayne had an early visitor to the Walden Transit control - en route between Laramie and Steamboat Springs, as Jeffrey Hulett passed through at 9:39 this morning.

Jeffrey had a speedy time last High Country, and is hoping to have a less thunderstorm-prone ride this go around.

Déjà vu as Josh Horwood passes through battling strong winds at 3:15pm.

The Start and Early Miles

43 riders headed off in mild, dry conditions on the fourth Colorado High Country 1200!
