Confirmed and Waitlisted Riders

We've now processed the first-day registrations (thanks, everyone!).

  • There were 54 first-day registrants.
  • Of these, 23 had been registrants when CHC'20 was cancelled, so they got confirmed spots.
  • The remaining 31 were put in a lottery, to fill out the remaining confirmed spots (27) and start the waiting list (4).
  • Riders registering after 2/15 got spots on the waiting list in order of registration.
Next steps:
  • Flag riders' qualification status.
  • Determine how many rooms to release at the North Park Inn for possible booking by those who'd like single occupancy.

Registration Reminder

Sent 14-Dec-2021

We're sending you this note because you are on the Colorado High Country 1200k interest list for 2021.
  • Registration is (still) set to open Monday, February 15, 12:00 am Mountain Time (07:00 UTC).
  • You will be choosing between two Entry Fee options. At this point, there's no feature to change from no lodging to lodging, or vice versa. We will be seeing what we can do leading up to the event.
    • $400 - including three nights’ lodging (double occupancy), dropbag transport to overnight site (Walden) and back, and food offerings at that control.
    • $230 - same as above but with no lodging provided - you will need to make your own bookings.
  • Lodging - To recap: choosing the “no lodging” option allows you to make other lodging arrangements in Walden - if you prefer to avoid double occupancy -  or elsewhere if you were not planning to sleep in Walden anyway. We currently have reserved all the rooms at the host motel, the North Park Inn. Based on feedback, we've decided to wait a day or two to release rooms to be available for single occupancy. That allows us to see how many riders want single vs. double rooms, and be more intelligent about how many rooms to release. At that point, we'll let you know, and registrants who want single rooms can make their own bookings.
  • Registration Reminders (repeated from the prior update) -
    • To be considered a registrant, you need to fill in the application and send your payment.
    • First-day registrants who were registered in 2020 when the event was cancelled get priority.
    • Other first-day registrants will go into a lottery if we have over 50 total the first day.
  • Start/Finish Motel - We are planning on using the Quality Inn in Louisville as our host start/finish motel, as we have in the past. They have always provided us good service.  We have not yet booked a special rate with them, but in the past, they've been able to apply this retroactively to riders' bookings.  There are also other hotels within a half-mile radius.
  • Rider Info - We will be posting this year's rider info, including services en route, and transport to/from the Denver airport, but you can get an idea by looking at the 2016 rider info page.
  • Colorado High Country Blog - We'll be posting this update on the Colorado High Country Blog. The Blog is your primary channel for getting updates to you, so be sure to follow the blog after you register.
Thanks for your interest and feedback!

Added notes:

  • Room Sharing - If you are planning on sharing a room, feel free to mention roommate preference(s) in the Remarks field on the application form.
  • Registration Link - The CHC Main Page will be updated with a Registration link later today.
  • First Day Registration - Remember that you have all day to be a first-day registrant. No rush. :-)
